Medication while PregnantFrom: Gina (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 10 Sep 2000 00:59:17 -0500 (CDT)
My husband and i have decided we want have another child but i have chronic pain and therefore am on methadone and ultram. I take the ultram atleast 4 times a day and 2 at a time if i need it and i take the methadone as needed. My Dr. wants me to take the Methadone like im taken the ultram but i do not want to get addicted to the methadone. I heard it was horrible to try to get off of and if i get pregnant i do not want to be on it. But my question is~is there any drug that i can take that would be safe for the baby but strong enough for me to take that would help my pain? I have tmj and myofacial pain syndrome. Would the ultram be ok to take maybe? Or tylenal with codeine, as needed? I need something for pain but i do not want to take anything that would hurt our baby. Also i was wondering how long i should be off my meds before i try to get pregnant? Thanks so much for any help. Gina
