Ativan use before pregnancy was detectedFrom: Sherri (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 5 Sep 2000 00:18:33 -0500 (CDT)
Om May 5th I was prescribed .05mg of Ativan for anxiety and stress. I received a 30 pill supply. I became pregnant somewhere between 5/15-20th. I didn't find out I was pregnant until 9-10 days after my missed period. I took 21 of these pills over the course of a month. My doctors seem to joke and suggest that's how I probably became pregnant (fertility shots didn't work), but I am worried of the effects (cleft palate) it may have had on the embryo? I also had my hair colored, and had chest xrays (without being covered with protection) on 5/19, but they (my docs) say while the egg/sperm fusion is happening and before implantation occurs that the embryo is pretty much protected (?). My ultrasounds have looked normal and my BUN study results for Down's and Trisomy came back at 1/2078 and 1/10,000. My 20 week u/s is scheduled for the 14th of this month and I await my AFP triple screen results this week. I'm trying to avoid amnio should everything check out ok. No one seems concerned about the early exposure I gave to the baby...But I'm still worried. What are your thoughts? Thanks
