Bliss, The gardnerella should be treated, but not because of the risk of preterm labor. This represents one of the bacterial vaginitis' or BV. This has quite definitively now been shown to not cause preterm labor. The hesitency about treating comes from the concern regarding the use of Flagyl in the first trimester... Lynn
