How far along are you?? The "lump" you described certainly could fit the description of your mucus plug, but if it is, it doesn't necessarily mean labor is right around the corner (some women lose their mucus plus weeks or months before labor begins). What's more concerning would be the regular contractions and fluid leakage you're experiencing and that, combined with the mucus incident, warrants an immediate call to your care provider to be on the safe side. Chances are s/he will want you to head to L&D to be checked, but under NO circumstances should you be concerned about feeling silly or about bothering your care provider - that's what they're there for! Just make a quick call, explain your symptoms in detail and go from there. Best wishes to you... Tonja
