My daughter-in-law is approx 38 wks. Her check up this week revealed that she is 60% effaced(whatever that means) and has dialated only one centimeter. Last week she was 50% effaced and also dialated to 1 cm. The told her at her check up this week that when she came in next week if she had not dialated more they would make arrangements to induce labor the next day. I am really concerned for her. I am one who firmly believes that when the baby is ready to be born - it will happen and not until then - provided it has been a normal pregnancy & it has. Please ADVISE me on this matter as I don't believe labor should be induced. I would like this to help her - she is so sweet. Thanks. G.Tatom
