Gestational Diabetes

I was called by the nurse this afternoon with the results of my one hour glucose tolerance test. I guess I failed big time because my blood sugar was 189. I am now scheduled to take the three hour fasting test on Wed am. My question is this: could anything I had eaten the night before really skewed my test a lot. I didn't eat late night but I am wondering. Also, why did they tell me to go ahead and eat something like toast that morning? Wouldn't that have skewed the test? I guess I am a little worried about these results and wonder what to think about it all? Should I do anything differently prior to the fasting three hour GTT? I feel badly about the whole thing because although I have been a relatively healthy eater for most of the past 7 months I have been a bit more lenient with some things like candy and pizza etc. I am typically someone who exercised quite a bit and really didn't indulge prior to being pregnant. Both of these good habits I have lost too. Uggghhh! Please give me some information on what to expect should I fail the three hour test next. Thanks so much.
