31 weeksFrom: Rachael (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 22 Aug 2000 15:06:41 -0500 (CDT)
I have a friend who is 31 weeks with her second child. All day Sunday and Monday she had contractions. She called her doctor, who said it was likely due to her being on her feet all weekend (she was very busy), told her to drink lots of water, and rest. The contractions stopped. Today she has had a very heavy mucousy discharge (no blood), unlike any she has experienced in either pregnancies. Her advice nurse told her not to worry, it was probably normal, and keep her doctor's appointment for next Tuesday. Should she be seen today? Is the discharge of the mucous plug always accompanied by blood?
