I was allergic to prometrium [I originally started out with this] was was put on a progesterone vaginal suppository [Crinone 8%] for 16 weeks because I have Hashimotos Hypothyroidism and I am slightely positive Antiphospholipid Antibodies [I also take low dose 81 mg baby aspirin for this].

I was seeing a Reproductive Endocrynologist for the above conditions and it was under his direction that I was on this. I continued for 16 weeks in order to decrease the chance of a m/c due to autoimmune problems.

There is a doctor at University of Chicago [I forget his name] who is also doing research in this area. There have been no scientifically validated studies due I think to the difficulty of putting together a double-blind study --- what family would agree to this?

I am currently 36 weeks pregnant.

P.S. My ob who I transferred to after the first trimester didn't think it was necessary to continue, nor did a perinatologist that I also saw but I did continue with it until 16 weeks, neither saw any harm to the baby from it. They did think the baby aspirin was a good thing to do for the APLS.
