Thank you! I take prednisone (20mg/day) to control an autoimmune disease. Both my MFM (maternal fetal medicine) docotors and my rheumatologist have assured me there is no risk to the baby. However, the dosage of prednisone has caused some problems for me: my potassium became incrediby out of wack (extremely and dangerously low) and I developed gestational diabetes, both attributable in part to the prednisone. My gestational diabetes is much harder to control because of the prednisone and I now have to take insulin.
