Can being slightly overweight during pregnancy cause a miscarriage??From: Bronwyn (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 10 Aug 2000 04:28:09 -0500 (CDT)
I read that being overweight can cause a miscarriage but they didn't explain how this might happen. I understand that it is ideal to be the right size before you fall pregnant but this isn't always possible. If you eat correctly and exercise I didn't think it could be a major problem. If you had high blood pressure wouldn't you get symptoms such as swollen feet and hands so that you can get treated? I am slighly overwieght and lost two babies to misc in a six mth gap. I find it hard to lose weight but I also exercise and eat well and I do not smoke drink alcohol or take caffine. Could the weight be a problem as I always thought that the weight would stop you ovulating and from fallng pregnant so I do not understand. Please help. Bronwyn
