A little worried...From: patti (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 4 Aug 2000 12:09:03 -0500 (CDT)
I am pregnant with my second child. I am about 3 months along. I am also a type II diabetic. My sugars have not been ideal from the start so I have been taking both NPH and Regular insulin. That seemed to help a little for a few weeks but now my fastings are up in the 115-128s and I have to either eat hardly anything or exercise like crazy inorder to keep the daytime ones down. I have also lost 1-2lbs a week since the 8th week of pregnancy. I think they may be water weight mainly but their was a 2lb difference from the appointment at 8weeks to the 10week ultra-sound my o.b. ordered. And since then my scale has shown that I have lost 2lbs. in the last two weeks. I have had morning sickness which is getting somewhat better now, but have only thrown up 1 or 2 times. Most of the time I am starving but when I start eating I feel ill and don't finish. Any ideas? Also, could there be something wrong with the baby? My next appointment is on the 25th of Aug. The doc didn't seem too worried about the loss, but didn't intend to weigh me at the last appointment, I asked the nurse to let me to see. P.S. I was signifigantly overweight before getting pregnant. Thanks
-- Patti
