Irritable Uterus? QuestionsFrom: Ann-Marie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 3 Aug 2000 08:52:35 -0500 (CDT)
I am 34 1/2 weeks pregnant. Last night I had an u/s and non-stress test? [they do the heartbeat and I press a button each time the baby moves]because my bp has been elevated. The nurse said that I was having contractions [I'd thought so but wasn't sure] and went and called my ob. She came back and said it was nothing to worry about and they wouldn't stop my labor now at this point anyway. Wouldn't my baby be a preemie? I thought full-term was 37 weeks. When and how is the decision made to stop labor? Is it because my bp has been elevated that they would prefer not to stop it [As you can see I did not get that much info and I know that I can call my ob but I don't want to bug him, I would prefer to get some feedback here and just talk to him next week at my scheduled appt.] Thanks In Advance, Ann-Marie
