Blood clot in uterusFrom: A. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 1 Aug 2000 17:49:57 -0500 (CDT)
I recently miscarried at 9 wks pregnant (first pregnancy). I began bleeding at 6 weeksm at which time an ultrasound showed the baby (with a heartbeat) and a blood clot in my uterus. My doctor said that if the pregnancy was meant to continue the blood clot would dissolve. A few weeks later I miscarried naturally. My doctor didn't do any tests, she said that I am healthy and shouldn't hesitate to try again - that the miscarriage was probably a fluke and that they don't do tests until you have had 3 consecutive miscarriages. Since then I have been reading a lot about miscarriages and read some informatin on anticardiolipins and clotting. The material I read suggested taking baby aspirin everyday to prevent clotting problems. I want to get pregnant again next month and am considering taking baby aspirin as a preventative measure. Do you recommend that I take baby aspirin? I can't help thinking that the blood clot caused the miscarriage. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
