Re: doctor does not want to see me until after 10 weeks

I would at least get the script for the prenatals. I have to wonder if OTC vitamins have some of the same problems as other OTC health supplements (the OTC product may or may not have as much of vitamin x as indicated on the label). I assume prescription vitamins have to meet the same standards as other prescription drugs.

With my first baby, I saw the nurse at 8 weeks for a discussion of diet, etc. The doc did a quick tummy poke to be sure I wasn't really a lot further along than we thought. Then at 12 weeks I had my first official OB visit with a pelvic, pap, etc.

For baby #2, I went in at 5 weeks for confirmation, but otherwise I would have had the first appt at 8 weeks. I had a pap and other cultures right before I got pregnant, so he skipped those. But we were able to hear the HB at the 8 week visit -- very cool.

I suspect there's not much that can be done or checked before 8 weeks, but it does seem that an "education" visit would be appropriate. Good luck and congratulations.
