I saw my doctor last Friday. I explained to him that I thought maybe I was developing a UTI (I was hospitalized two weeks ago with a kidney stone and infection)despite the fact that I had just finished a 7-day course of Keflex. At first he was going to do a urine test, but then he backed off and said he would just get the results from a urine test I had taken at the urologist's office earlier in the week. Well, the urologist's office had no results for a urine test and no dictation on my case. They said to try back Monday. My doctor decided to give me a prescription for Macrobid anyway. I haven't had the prescription filled yet, and I'm not sure if I really should. I don't want to take anything not absolutely necessary while I'm pregnant. If they can't get the test results today from the urologist, should I ask to be tested in my OB's office before beginning the Macrobid or should I just assume that I might have a UTI and take it without a test? Thanks.
