Re: BBT InterpretationFrom: Tonja (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 31 Jul 2000 12:43:22 -0500 (CDT)
It's normal for your BBTs to flucuate a little (.1 to .4 of a degree, for example) from day to day both pre and post ovulation as long as they stay in the same general range. A typical cycle with ovulation will reflect a "biphasic" temperature pattern, the first being the lower range of temps before ovulation, the other being the higher range of temps after ovulation and until menses begin again (the two ranges are usually pretty clear on the chart once the cycle is complete). The belief is that the high thermal shift appears *after* you have ovulated due to the increase of progesterone after ovulation, so according to that theory, if your temp this morning reflected the obvious thermal shift, you probably ovulated yesterday. Theoretically, it's most likely too late to TTC, although some believe that it is *possible* to conceive the day after ovulation under certain circumstances, so I guess it couldn't hurt! :-) Don't have much to offer on your other two questions, but someone else probably will!
