Dr. Braun

You have scared me to death! I am a bath taker(not hot tub but bath) and have beeen all my life! I know that the tub has been pretty warm when I get in it sometimes and I took an oral thermometer today after reading this letter and popped it in the tubimmediately after running the water and it was 102 degrees but it certainly doesn't feel as hot as a hot tub does when I sit in it.(I don't know if this is an accurate way to measure this) I know I stay in for more than 5 minutes. I also usually don't get in the tub immediately upon running the water. So it could be a bit cooler after I wait.(maybe a couple of degrees) I am now 26 weeks along and have had a level 2 scan that indicated everything was ok and the baby was fine. Now I am panicked that I have done something bad to my baby and won't find out until it is born. WHat can I do. There is a woman that I am friends with who is also a bath taker and she said she took baths throughout her pregnancy wihtout incident and is now the mother of a healthy 1 year old. Please tell me what to do. Thanks, Lily At Thu, 27 Jul 2000, R. Daniel Braun, MD wrote: >
