induction methodsFrom: Robin (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 27 Jul 2000 22:31:34 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, I posted here before. My doctor wants to induce my labor but I am very reluctant to do so. What is the safest way to induce labor? Will the gel alone be sufficient? Can I use it a few times per week? Will it bring contractions? My doctor told me that the baby is positioned very low in the pelvis, but I am still totally closed. What does it mean? Does it mean that the chances of going into labor naturally are very slim? Also, I have reasons to believe that there could be a mistake in calculations. First of all, my cycle is not regular at all, and I am not even sure if I've given my LMP date correctly, second of all my cycle is more like 31 days (when it is regular). However, I had my ultrasound at 7 week of pregnancy, so would it pick up the correct gestational date more accurately? How accurate is it? Thank you.
