Dr Intosh additional shingles question

I was curious would shingles be contagious to a child if they received their chicken pox vaccination prior to exposure? I know having the shot is not the same as actually getting the chicken pox so I was curious if one had to actually get the pox first in order to be immune or the shot would cover a person also.

Thanks!
