laborFrom: Amanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 21 Jul 2000 11:12:29 -0500 (CDT)
I wrote once and you said I should be concerned about preterm labor. I got even more concerned when I passed my mucus plug that morning. Well I went to L&D yesterday with all the signs they hooked me up to a monitor and it showed my contractions coming every four minutes. They came running in and said they needed to give me a shot to stop it from happening. She checked to see if I was diliated and I was a fingertip and even after the shot I was still having them. My OB come in said I had a UTI and that was causing the contractions and gave me a strong medicine to stop the contractions. Well they are still there and getting stronger-still happening every 5-10 minutes but I feel there is nothing that I can do. HELP!!!!!!!! Tonya I know this is like you story and I don't wish to have my baby now but if they are going to fool around with me then I feel that it would be safer to have the baby where it has a chance. And the OB said losing my mucus plug wasn't a concern but I thought that kept away infection.
