What is the quickest?

I am 6 months pregnant with my first child. I suffer from constipation from time to time. I have tried increasing my fiber and water intake. It still seems to effect me. The over-the-counter stuff takes forever to work. I asked a couple of friends who already have babies "What to do?" One said take the over-the-counter stuff and the other suggested a enema for faster relief. Which should I do? What over-the-counter stuff is better and works fast? OR Is an enema better? If so, I have never had an enema before. What do I do and where do I start?
