I am 12 weeks pregnant and was using Crinone during weeks 6 - 12. My progesterone level had been 8.8. (We conceived naturally). At any rate, I have had an ultrasound and have also seen and heard the heartbeat. Originally my doctor was going to keep me on the Crinone for 14 weeks however once we heard the heartbeat (at 12 weeks) she said I could stop taking the Crinone and that the Placenta was functioning. I am so nervous that something will go wrong now that I am off of Crinone. I suppose I don't really understand the role of progesterone during pregnancy. Why is it only needed during the 1st trimester? Do you think I should continue to 14 weeks with Crinone or does a strong heartbeat mean that things will be fine and that I do not need the Crinone? Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks! MARYJOAN
