Hopefully, you still haven't had your pre-op visit with your doc. If you have, you should call the office and get more info; if you haven't, these issues should be covered at that visit. Usually a spinal iss given- a dose of a novacaine-like drug that completely numbs you from the waist down. You will probably be prescribed bedrest for a couple of days after surgery. Spotting and cramps are normal for a few days. Good luck.
