Morning spotting in first trimesterFrom: Angela (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 1 Jul 2000 18:33:46 -0500 (CDT)
I am six weeks pregnant(well, six weeks since LMP). Five days ago I began spotting. The blood isn't heavy and is light brown. My hcg level was normal and I had an ultrasound which showed a fetal heartbeat. My doctor says not to worry unless the blood gets heavier, but I am concerned since I have had a previous miscarriage. The spotting seems to mostly occur after I have been asleep, at night or after a nap. The longer I am awake, the more it tapers off. I am wondering if perhaps my hormone levels are falling during sleep? If so is there anything that can be done?
