meds and pregnancyFrom: RANDIE (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 30 Jun 2000 18:10:59 -0500 (CDT)
My husband and I are planning on getting pregnant in July. I have been off birth control pills for six month and predict it will happen almost immediately. It did with my previous two. Due to insurance regulations I could not see an OB for a consult before becoming pregnant and my regular doctor said he will worry when I get pregnant. I take certain meds daily. The ones I take are synthroid, tenormin, allegra, patanol, and a proventil inhaler. I know the tenormin and sythroid are "safe", but the allegra and patanol worry me. Are these harmful to take during pregnancy? I want to be prepared for when the test comes out positive. Also with being a high risk pregnancy is there anything I can do regarding the insurance regulations? They don't allow consults, and also don't allow visits before three months. No exceptions! This is a military hospital that sets the rule not the insurance. Thanks
