Possibly, It shouldn't be, but there are a fair number of people who think that BV causes some abd. pain.

I usually use the oral form of Metronidazole (Flagyl)

And are my chances of preterm labour now greatly increased >because of the BV?

Most likely not. If one checks a population that is high risk for preterm labor, finding BV and treating it decreases the incidence of preterm delivery. Checking a group that is not at high risk and treating those with BV, does not change the incidence of preterm delivery.
