anencephaly & childbirthFrom: Natalie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 29 Jun 2000 18:33:38 -0500 (CDT)
I need some advice, Please! I am carrying a child with anencephaly. I am 39.5 weeks, the doc's have been unsure of whether I will go into labor on my own. I have been 2cm dilated for 3 weeks, the last visit the doctor said that I was 50% effaced. I have had increased vaginal discharge and some contractions but they always go away. Is there anything that I can do to help labor progress on it's own? I am very active, walking, house work, taking care of my two other children, etc. I still work 40 hours a week. My husband and I having been having sex for the past few nights to see if that does anything. I really don't want to get induced because the baby has enough odds against her, I hope for her to live for at least a few minutes. Any info/advice about "natural induction" thanks, Natalie
