Pregnancy, pulmonary embolism and obesityFrom: Jules (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 29 Jun 2000 14:31:14 -0500 (CDT)
Hi. I was wondering if I might get some leads to information about pregnancy and pulmonary embolism. I am 28, morbidly obese, with a history of pulmonary embolism (twice, once thrombolised). I am attending to my exercise program and caloric intake diligently, but to no avail and have a bmi that is off the charts. What is causing me more worry is the fact that I am currently anticoagulated (Warfarin), and that I will be required to remain anticoagulated throughout a pregnancy. I would like information on anticoagulation therapy during pregnancy, potential risks, and what is likely to occur during the pregnancy (i.e.; will I experience abnormal edoema?, Will I be able to give birth vaginally?). Thank you for your time.
