Thanks, Claudia for your insights. I hope and pray everything stays okay with the baby. My SLE puts me at a higher risk for IUGR to begin with so I know this can't help the issue. To answer your questions--no history of an eating disorder. The GI doc seems to think that it is caused from a pre-existing reflux disease that pregnancy has made severely worse. They are treating me for the reflux and the secondary symptoms of the reflux(heartburn, esophigitis are going away) but we're still having a hard time with the vomiting and the medicines they've prescribed have been incredibly expensive. I asked my MFM doctor about something other than Zofran, but he told me essentially that because thats what the GI doctor prescribed, he couldn't help me with any other options.

No chance of new doctor--I have to see a MFM doctor and the best/closest/only are at the medical school right near my house. I wish I could get my doctor to listen to me. When I asked him at my last appointment what having ketones meant, he told me that they produced a poison that affected the baby. Neeedless to say that did not make me happy. I guess I should be more assertive and demand an I.V. or something, but I just don't know what to do. This has been going on for three weeks now. I just want to feel better. How long should they wait before they try something else? Thanks again for your insights and thanks to Dr. McIntosh for the med suggestion.
