Re: Ketones in urine (Docs what do you think?)From: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 20 Jun 2000 21:07:41 -0500 (CDT)
I do feel dehydrated and I know that the last time I got rehydrated I felt a lot better. What I would like to see happen is for them to rehydrate me then for me to try a new anti-nausea med. (It seems silly for me to take anti nausea meds when being dehydrated aggravates the nausea and prevents the medicine from working.) My doc told me is won't consider me dehydrated until my tounge and eyes are dry and I void less than 3 times a day. My question still is: What are the risks of having large ketones in my urine for the baby? Would it be unreasonable for me to ask for rehydration? How long do doctors let a problem like this go before they do something or is there nothing they can do? I felt horrible after I left the doctor's office today. I dealt with 3 years of infertility before this miraculous occurance and now I feel like I'm failing because I can't even take care of my baby inutero. I am 25 weeks pregnant and at my wits end. I so desperately want a healthy baby, but feel like my chances diminsh every day I spend throwing up.
