Induction info

I've made it to 37 weeks after being on partial bedrest for BH's and early dilitation & effacement. Now I have to worry about being induced. We may talk about scheduling at my app't tomorrow. OB wants to induce b/c my first baby arrived term and at home. I had no labor pains with her and never knew I was having contractions. I had called the OB after my water broke. By then I was feeling alot of rectal pressure--I almost cracked up laughing when he told me to hold my legs together and get to the hospital. I thought doctors only said that in the movies?! LOL. One other thing: we live at least 45 minutes from the hospital the OB and I are registered at.

I am about 90+% effaced and 1-2 cm dilated as of my last app't with baby at 0-station. I would prefer not to be induced, but if I must I would prefer that it be as natural as possible. Is there any way around a traditional induction that I can discuss with my doctor?
