Perhaps there was fetal demise, as in yes a fetus began to develop, and then for some reason died in the uterus. Are they absolutely sure everything is out of uterus? The other reason HCG levels can raise rapidly is from what they call a molar pregnancy. I bet you are like totally confused and freaked out by whatever is going on! Anyway to get a second opinion? Also, really think you should have another u/s and HCG level this week. Also could have been a recording error on part of ER on HCG values. You sound like you have been through hell with this, struggling with "Am I pregnant or not?" If your OB can not give you some answers Monday I would push for a 2nd opinion. Did you use any fertility treatments? Or was this pregnancy without medical intervention? I am so sorry you are having such a crummy time. I remember with my pregnancy loss It took almost a week of back and forth HCG levels to determine the loss. I was so sad, but a part of me just wanted to know one way or another. I am sending you many thoughts and prayers!
