HPT lines getting lighter!! Why??

I recently tested positive for pregnancy at around 10 days past ovulation (just 2 days ago). Since there were 2 tests in the pack (and of course I'm paranoid due to a previous miscarriage), I tested again the next day. To my horror, the line was a little lighter. The 3rd day (today), I tested again and it was even lighter!! Barely there! Granted, it's a cheap brand (Answer), but. . .

Now, I'm not even late for my period yet, and I'm having low backache for 2 days straight (not a PMS symptom that I normally have), as if I must be miscarrying this pregnancy already! The backache has occurred on the same 2 days when I've received the "lighter" line on the HPT. Is it possible that I'm already feeling the pains of a miscarriage at only about 13 days past ovulation?

I miscarried at 9 weeks 3 months ago, and it gave me a very achey, heavy low back (with bleeding, of course). It's hard to believe that a small group of cells at 13 dpo could produce the same type of miscarriage pain, but could it??

Or is the amount of HCG in my urine fluctuating throught the day? 1st test was just before lunch; 2nd was after a hard swim workout (dehydrated); 3rd was in morning, but was not my first void of the day.

Thanks for your insight. I'm leaving the country for 1 week and could not have gotten a blood test in time for my trip, so I'm relying on the HPT tests.

Thanks again,

acb
