I am 25 weeks pregnant and at my last ob visit I tested +1 for protein in my urine with a moderate amount of blood. My bp was 135/84 (normally 120/70). The resident wasn't too worried--the +1 for protein was because of the blood. They did a Urinanalysis and I don't have a UTI. My questions: Are there benign reasons to have blood in my urine? What does the +1 for protein mean? Would you do any additional follow up on these results? (BTW I have SLE).
