Re: What are the odds?From: Valerie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 30 May 2000 18:27:19 -0400
Worry! Worry about what you will face if she turns up pregnant -- 18 years of being responsible for someone else is a long time. Worry about what you will do if either of you ends up with a sexually transmitted disease. If either of these scenarios worries you at all you need to faithfully use condoms and more. My last pregnancy was conceived using a condom! Beyond that, it is impossible to predict with %100 certainty when someone will ovulate unless you are using a predictor kit. I would certainly not trust someone telling you when they might ovulate. I know you are young and confused. The sex instinct is incredibly strong -- nature designed it to force the species to reproduce. If you aren't ready to do that, try not to get carried away. Plan ahead -- hopefully you will ALWAYS use condoms and spermicide, and your girlfriend will go on the pill. I'm a teacher so feel free to talk to me privately if you would like. Be smart!
