Hi MaryJoan!

I would like to share my experience with you. At 4 1/2 weeks pregnancy my *new* doctor drew progestrone and it was only 5.9, 2 days later it dropped to 5.3. He told me that this pregancy was not viable as it had to be at least 10. At 5 weeks I went in to see him (and also had blood drawn), at this u/s he found a sac and a yolk which was "baffling" to him and immediately put me on 200mg of micro progestrone a day. The blood results the next day read that my progestrone has risen (naturally) to 6.9 but STILL lower than what it SHOULD be. I just had another u/s this past Friday at 9 weeks and I not only have 1 but 2 babies with strong heartbeats and the right size. Now, I know there is always that chance of miscarriage but the truth is that I feel instinctely that everything is okay, will be okay and projestrone is really not indicative of much and I from what I read statiscally progestrone has really help prevent miscarriage. Nothing has been wrong with me - no bleeding just your regualar wonderful symptoms. I read something recently (I think parentsplace.com) were a nurse said that if you are even carrying a pregnancy at "low" progestrone then obviously it's enough to sustain a pregnancy.

Best of luck to you and I hope that my personal experience has helped to make you feel better. You can always e-mail me if you would like to just chat.
