Re: 10 weeks since misscarriage and no period.From: Julie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 28 May 2000 09:24:56 -0500 (CDT)
I'm sorry no one posted to you sooner, but Lori, it is a holiday weekend. It has only been one day - I've had to wait a couple days for a reply sometimes, especially over a weekend. I experienced something similar to you - I had a D&C in February 1999, and started my period after that on June 3. It was a nightmare waiting and waiting because we wanted to start trying again right away and couldn't until I had a period. With me, I believe it just was that I hadn't ovulated yet. They called me anovulatory. With all the stress of losing the baby and wanting to try again, I was preventing my body from ovulating. I ovulated on May 15, and started on June 3, so I was very relieved. Before then, they gave me 2 rounds of Provera to "jump start" my period. Neither worked. It just sound like your body isn't ready for you to have a period yet. I know it is hard, but try and be patient. I had another miscarriage in September 1999, and I had a D&C with that one, too. This time, thankfully, I started my period in a timely manner - 5 weeks after. I will note that with the first D&C, I also stopped bleeding after the 2nd day. The 2nd D&C, I bled for weeks after off and on. Strange how different they were. Good luck, Lori. Don't give up on this forum because it is a good source of information. Just please be patient. These doctors work here after their normal work hours, which are long anyway. The rest of us just come here for advice, like you - and we don't always get on every day to read messages. Take care.
