-- Thank you so much for your reply! So that I understand this, the only way that the amniotic emboulus occurs is through the area where the placenta seperates? Does the wound need to be large, or would a small knick or cut be enough? My water was broken prior to me having very extreme pain. Was the pain the placenta abruption? Was the fact that I didn't have all the amniotic fluid there be the reason that I survived? My son had seizures, but now is not and is off his medication. He is five months old now and is experiencing some delays. We are very happy with the progress he has made so far. He is still on his feeding tube, but other than this he has been very healthy. Yes we feel very very lucky. It has been a very inspirational experience. Thanks for you help! Ann
