Prednisone clarification question

During my pregnancy I was given Dexamethasone shots for lung maturity. Recently a friend told me Dexamethasone is also a name for an oral steroid which is basically prednisone, just put out by a different company. I know they are both steroids but I never knew I was taking Prednisone. Is this correct?
