PCOS, Provera vs. Ethynilestradiol based BCPs - please answerFrom: Masha (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 22 May 2000 14:01:37 -0500 (CDT)
I was recently diagnosed with PCOS and GYN prescribed me clomiphene to start an infertility treatment. Since my periods are absent he gave me medroxyprogestrone (provera) to bring them up. I read an article suggesting that Ethynilestradiol based BCPs increase the success level of fertility treatment following. But I know nothing about progestrone based BCPs. Even more I stopped getting periods after I was given MedroxyProgestrone to restore one that was late for 4 month. I'm afraid to take it again. What would you say? Could you send me some information/suggestions on this subjest? May Provera worsen my PCO symptoms? Do you think its desiable to try restoring the AF using Diane-35 (for example) instead of Medroxyprogestrone (aragest)?
