Hair growth and pattern is related to steroidal hormones such as estrogens,androgens etc., and it is altered during pregnancy thus affecting the hair growth pattern and hair fall also.

My baby is four months old now and I have a very distinct > pattern all the way around my head of about 6 inches of stick-straight

Usually it reverts back to normal pattern as one weans.
