Are there any physical factors that make certain couples prone to bear children of a particular gender?

Statistically, the chances of having 4 or 5 children of the same gender seems to be fairly remote (I haven't done the actual math or anything), yet you see many families in this situation. I just wondered if there was something peculiar about the body chemistries of these couples, or if they are just defying the odds.
