Yes, Once you have a positve result you do not need to test further.

I usually tested with OPK's at >2pm because I have read that 85% of women have the LH surge between 12am

What is important is to test at the same time every day -- it does not matter when that is. Your doc wants you to test in hte morning so you can call them so they can make arrangements for your IUI the next day. >

The FIRST day the test line is as dark as or darker than the test line -- once it is as dark, it is positive.

Based on the opk's and bbt >charts, I have noted a surge on day 14, day 15, then a temp rise on day

No AS DARK AS is still positive.

But what if I wait for that to >happen and it doesn't happen this cycle?

see above -- stop testing once it is as dark as the reference line before you drive yourself nuts! The whole infertility process will do that just fine without you adding to your stresses!

Once the test detects the LH surge (based on a threshold level of LH), it will remain positive until LH once again drops below that threshold, which is why the package insert says you do NOT need to ttest anymore once you get that positive result!

Good luck. I've been there, done that -- and although I eventually had to use Pergonal and IUI, I have the most awesome toddler daughter to show for all hte stress and anxiety! >
