Some women just have an irritable uterus and have annoying contractions that do not change theier cervix. BUT, if you are having 6 painful contractions an hour you MUST call your doc and follow those recommendations -- I'd have you come in for monitoring and a cervical check.

The PERI told me I >am at higher risk for an earlier labor/birth, but how early?

If your previa is resolved and you have no history of preterm labor, did he explain why you are at increased risk? Have they done any studies like fetal fibrinectin or salivary estriol if you've been contracting alot? )These tests are not very good at predicting preterm delivery, but are good at predicting who will NOT deliver within 1 -2 weeks of a negative result)

WHat should >I do?

Call your doc.

I hate to waste the Dr's time,

You're paying your doc to be there for you.

or be stuck in the hospital when >everything seems to be fine each time I see the DR...

Well, that is a drag, but not as big a drag as visiting a preterm baby in the intensive care nursery.... >

See above. Get checked.
