IUI Timing with LH surge

I am doing a Clomid + IUI this cycle. This is my first Clomid cycle & my first IUI cycle. I took Clomid on days 3-7. I go in tomorrow for an ultrasound (day 12 of cycle) to monitor follicles & lining. I am supposed to call the office on the day of my LH surge and have the IUI performed the following day.

My question is this:

I normally ovulate on day 16 (without Clomid). When I have done OPK's in the past, I usually get a positive on day 14 (line is as dark as control line) and on day 15 (line is darker than control line). I am assuming I am catching the same LH surge? I usually tested with OPK's at 2pm because I have read that 85% of women have the LH surge between 12am & 6am and it takes 6 hours for it to be detected in urine. For this cycle, I was told to test first thing in the morning. I don't know if this is going to make a difference in regard to detecting the surge 2 days in a row.

Because in the past I detected a surge two consectutive days, which day do I call the office to schedule the IUI? Based on the opk's and bbt charts, I have noted a surge on day 14, day 15, then a temp rise on day 17.

Would it be better for me to wait for the LH surge when the line is darker than the control line (day 15)? But what if I wait for that to happen and it doesn't happen this cycle?

I know I am being parranoid, but the timing aspect is so crutial to all of this. I have tried researching this issue and haven't found any answers. Mostly people say when you get more than 1 positive on the opk that it could be PCOS (which has already been ruled out). And this isn't a one time occurance - I have noted the 2 consecutive positives for probably 6 cycles, although I do not use opks every cycle.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
