I just need some answers!From: Josie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 28 Apr 2000 21:59:49 -0500 (CDT)
I know I'm at risk of driving these really helpful doctors and nurses crazy but I'm just so confused! I thank you all for your previous help - it means so much to me. I had an etopic last year that was treated with metheltraxate which casue the etopic to bleed into my uterus and I had to get an emergency lap. I have a history of Clamydia and have scarred tubes as a result. Today I am 5 weeks and 1 day pregnant from LMP. My doctor told me after two blood readings that although my HCG levels are rising normally that my progestrone has gone down from 5.9 to 5.3 which is indicative of a bad pregnancy. I have had for the last couple of days intermittent throbbing/discomfort(not severe) in my left tube area. At his suggestion I went to the E.R. tonight. My HGC levels went from 500 to 1500 (within two days) and they didn't bother to perform a progestrone test. So in their eyes all is normal. I did a transvaginal and abdominal scan that both showed nothing excecpt a cyst on my right tube. So in essence everything is okay. But I told them that my doctor said the progestrone was low and this meant this was not a good sign but the attending ER doctor didn't seem to think that mattered any. I'm jsut so confused. Is there any chance at all that I could have a healthy pregnancy? Anything at all?? Could I be having this discomfort because of all the scarring?? Could my progestrone miracously go up? I guess I really have to wait until my Monday ultrasound but I'm just looking for hope... Is there anything I can do? I really appreciate any response. Also, no one seemed to be able to tell me if I was "at risk" of rupturing or something. THe ER doctor said that this usually doesn't happen untill the 8th or 9th week of pregnany yet last year I had pain and bleeding almost from my first missed period. I'll stop babbling and thanks again for reading...
