Gestational dates vs pregnancy dates become especailly important when you are talking preemie survival. My son was born at 23 weeks of pg but that is only 21 gestation. It gets very confusing when I read preemie stuff because I never know if the moms are quoting gestational age or weeks of pg. My daughter was born at 33 weeks gestational and in the NICU her chart read 35 week baby.
