========== It may be too late by now ... but FWIW, if your gut says don't do it, I'd say don't do it. I declined EVERYTHING but a mid-pregnancy ultrasound while expecting my son (delivered at 36 1/2). I feel very strongly about not invading the womb or cervix during pregnancy. I also happen to have a half-brother with Down syndrome who is a beautiful soul and therefore leaves me achingly sad that some people consider it automatic justification for pregnancy termination. I am now 40 1/2, still hoping for a second child, and despite the "increased risks" I still would decline invasive testing, as well as the blood tests that still run such a high rate of false positives, they wind up leading you to invasive testing anyway. Best thoughts on your pregnancy, overall ...
