I hope she has others who can provide positive support for her -- and hwat about her doctor?? That is the person who knows best what is going on and can best counsel her. As for her not surving -- Hogwash!!! She may well have a much higher chance of needing a c-section or having preterm labor due to her condition, but with good prenatal care, she should certainly survive the experience! If there was a high chance of mortality the docs who have recommended an abortion. She needs to see a genetic counselor to get information on the chances of the baby being affected (I don't know anything about her particular condition). Please encourage this girl to seek prenatal care and referal to a genetic counselor, and perhaps a psycholgist as well to help her deal with the negativity that seems to emanate from her family.
