I am a grand multip, 36 weeks gestation, dilated to 4. Baby's head was not engaged during my last cervical check. Recently I was walking and felt very sharp cervical pain and thought my water was going to break. This was a brief sensation, lasting less than two minutes. (I'm guessing that my dilation is greater when the baby's head IS engaged.) I am afraid that if my water breaks, I will not make it to the hospital for delivery. My question to you is: Would you do an AROM to prevent me from delivering on my bathroom floor? At what gestational age would you do so? My last delivery was less than two hours. Thank you for your thoughts.
